Thank you for your interest in attending this year's Summit! Nearly every high school within our eight city and county region is participating! Each school has a designated number of student attendees. Students interested in participating in this year's Summit should contact their school. Students can only be registered through their high school; there is no online registration for students.

Educator & Community/Industry Leader Day- March 2 @ the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, Danville 

Thank you for your interest in attending this year's Summit! There are several registration options built for your individual needs, please select the option that best suits your occupation.

Educators (8:00am-3:35pm): We have a full day of K-12, STEM-H educator workshops scheduled along with the keynote presentation, networking with regional community & industry leaders, and the SOVA STEM-H Education & Industry Achievement Awards, where we will recognize exemplary efforts being made by businesses, educators and other organizations surrounding STEM-H education in Southern Virginia. Come acquire new tools, curriculum, and other resources to utilize in your classroom while earning a certificate for CEUs! ($25)

Non-profit & Business/Industry Leaders (12:30-2:15pm; optional Education & Industry Panel 2:25-3:25pm): Do you have a vested interest in the future workforce of Southern Virginia being skilled in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and/or Health? Would you like to help us build a better pipeline for STEM-H education in our region? Please join us for the keynote presentation, network with area educators, and attend the SOVA STEM-H Education & Industry Achievement Awards, where we will recognize exemplary efforts being made by businesses, educators and other organizations surrounding STEM-H education in Southern Virginia. Please consider joining us for our Education & Industry Panel on Cybersecurity & Computer Science education. Additionally, you are welcome to attend morning Educator Workshops should your schedule permit. ($25- nonprofit; $35 business (1) or $60 (2) *Your fee helps subsidize the cost for two educator attendees*)

REGISTRATION

Are you a K-12 STEM-H educator? Are you an employer with a need for a STEM-skilled workforce? Please consider joining us for the 5th Annual SOVA STEM-H Summit, March 2, 2017. We'll be recognizing exemplary partnerships and efforts being made in STEM-H education in our region and providing educators and community & industry members an opportunity to discuss possible collaborations. 

(Community and/or industry attendee registration helps subsidize the cost for teacher attendees!)

 

AWARDS

The Southern Virginia STEM-H Education & Industry Achievement Awards will be presented on March 2. We will recognize all award nominees and announce the award recipients in four categories:

  • Community Champion for STEM-H Education
  • STEM-H Educator of the Year
  • Innovative STEM-H Program of the Year
  • Elite STEM-H Education & Industry Partnership Award
