Showcase 1:What Does Electrical Distribution Cost? How Fault Managed Power Changes Everything

The cost and complexity of power distribution is a major hurdle for profitable CEA businesses, which mainly focus on turning electricity into light for plant growth.  Many growers, however, lack insight into the associated costs, largely influenced by intricate wiring regulations aimed at making traditional AC or DC electricity safe. This presentation highlights a cost study by Southland Industries and VoltServer, detailing the expenses and elements involved in distributing electricity from a farm's primary source to LED lights. More notably, it introduces the National Electric Code's new class of power called "fault managed power," which both simplifies procedures and cuts costs, heralding a transformative moment for the industry.
